Shri. Mrutyunjay Mahapatra served as Managing Director and CEO of Syndicate Bank. He was the DMD & CIO of State Bank of India before moving to Syndicate bank.  As the DMD (Strategy) & Chief Digital Officer he is credited with expansion and transformation of IT, Data and Analytics, strategy and Innovation of India’s largest Bank and SBI Group.  Presently, he is a member of the Board of Supervision of NABARD and a member of Insurance Advisory Council of India. He is also a distinguished visiting professor at Manipal University’s T. A. Pai Management Institute. He is considered a thought leader in Banking, Finance, Innovation and Digital Transformation Strategy and has worked on the Boards of several Indian and Global companies.

He is a Post Graduate in Physics and Business Management and has had varied stints in the State Bank of India, in the country, and abroad for over 35 years before joining Syndicate Bank. His professional career includes stints in India, the UK, and the USA in Corporate Credit, Leasing, Global Strategy, Payments, Transactions, General Management, and Transformation Programmes at SBI. He is a well-known public speaker and regularly writes for leading newspapers and periodicals.
